It really depends.
On the cords, and the colours. The top to bottom look is going to be very overbearing, so either you're going for the farmer-boy-line-dancing look or something very high fashion, high maintenance.
Cord was HUGE on the F/W 09 runways so kudos to you for wanting to try it. Just go to the shops and try things on in the fitting rooms, dare dare dare, enjoy yourself, that's what fashion is about!

- Its a bit much....although you may get away with it if the shirt is of a fine cord, and in a contrasting colour to the trousers.....but thick cord, in the same colour.....definately not.....
- Definitely wouldn't recommend it.
Try a graphic tee over your corduroy pants with a blazer/vest. - Only if you're willing to wear a denim chambray shirt over jeans.
- As long as they match, it's cool baby.
