I wouldn't change anything, it reminds me of my grandma, and the room that she used to paint stuff in.

  if i had to change things then i would:
  change the table and chairs to a matching shade of wood that the shelves and surfaces are made of (mahogany?)
  put some kitsch curtains up at the windows with just a half net, like:
